An economic system is the system of production, distribution and consumption of goods and services of an economy. Alternatively, it is the set of principles and techniques by which problems of economics are the addressed, such as the economic problem of scarcity through allocation of finite productive resources. The economic system is composed of people and institutions, including their relationships to productive resources, such as through the convention of property. Examples of contemporary economic systems include capitalist systems, socialist systems, and mixed economies. The more produces there are, the more goods to sell. The more goods there are, the better they have to be to stand out from others and get people to buy them. A producer in a free market has to either make a better product for the same price, or sell it for less to make a consumer buy theirs instead of the other product. For this reason, the competition in a free market generally forces prices to be lower and selection and quality higher, which is great if you are a consumer (buyer of the product).
